Dang It - Got A Leak
Thought I had fixed all the leaks when I replaced the cam cover gasket. Had cleaned off my garage floor finally and right in the middle is a big cover of fresh fluid. Think it's oil but can't be sure. Guess I'll be cleaning off the engine and tracking it down

Looked as best I could without getting it up on a lift. It looked like it was online with the oil filter but it wasn't coming from the filter, it was coming from lower. I also checked the cam cover gasket so my mechanicin' is still alright.
Where it is on the concrete is directly under the block about half way between the front and the back. It is just ahead of the steering rack and just about where the bottom braces crosses the 'x' if that makes sense.
On a note, checked the oil and it doesn't appear to have lost a drop at the dipstick. Is there any part of the AT system in that area because the last time I checked it was a bit low (a couple of weeks ago).

what does the CROSS BRACE look like ,mine(1978) dont have one. tried the search, nothing.
far as oil leaks,donno, just a jaguar thing, something related to labor unions!

The it's the oil cooler o-rings. They go bad on the 6 cyl facelifts
I'll look into that. Where do you get replacement o-rings? And I'm assuming that I'd need to drain the oil before changing them?
The oil cooler lines connect to the oil cooler adaptor at the block directly below the oil filter. 95 percent of the time its just the o rings that go bad, I ended up replacing the both complete hoses as I did not desire to deal with this later and I hate leaks. If you do a search on the oil cooler line leaks on this and the other forum you will find *everyone* fixed the problem with just the o-rings
The o-rings will run you less than 10 bucks. Most guys can do it in less than an hour. No need to drain oil, just put a floor protector in place
The o-rings are part number CAC5118
