So while the shop was attaching my fuel supply line, properly, they noted that the "Pinion Seal was Leaking".
Pics are attached. Not sure what's involved, or if this is something I should let a shop perform? Any suggestions? Is there any "while you're there" kind of things to consider?
Just a small damn-near invisible seep, if that indeed. Just ask them to replace the diff oil and forget it; but be sure they use LSD diff oil. Leave well alone until it starts actually dripping. The pinion oil seal is tightened to a very critical torque using a crush sleeve inside under the seal. It is theoretically possible to renew the seal without a new crush sleeve; but I and others have tried it with no success.
