Default Facelift Rear Springs Description

I'm posting this for anyone looking to find an alternate rear spring for the facelift XJS, non-sportspack models.

The spring is 11-5/8" tall
It is 3-3/4" wide
The coils are 11.7mm thick
The coil is made up of a total of 9 complete turns.

Perhaps this can help someone in the future?

Thank you. One question; is there supposed to be a spacer/cushion for the springs to sit, on the bottom and top?
Thanks.

I did not have one. Not for any of the rear shocks anyways.

You'll need an 11/16 and a 16mm socket/wrenches to remove the bolts holding the shocks in place. 11/16 will work for the bottom nuts, and 11/16 for the top bolt, and 16mm for the top nut.

Thanks.
Not with standard Bode (OEM) shocks. Aftermarket shock are not always dead-on ride height-wise.

I bought Bilstein in the back.

24024464

Many sources referenced stock ride height.

I have Sachs in the front.

I'm going to add this link to this thread in case anyone is ever curious about spacer effects on the front and rear ride height. (SPOILER ALERT: Apparently you get a three-fold boost on shims. A .125" shim will raise your car by .375")

Odd. I just ordered a set of new springs from Welsh. JLM11569

Its measuring 10-3/4" high. All other dimensions are the same.

Appears to make only 8 complete turns.

I can't make this up using shims...

It does depend what the spring compression rate is Vee. They might be OK. If not there are loads more to your spec on sale in the UK.
