Default FREE "QuickCat" Cold Air Intakes

That's right-

My 1986 xj-s is fitted with these $459 (V12 Performance: QuickCat air intake kit, Lucas ignition, brushed/satin finish) intakes and since I'm such a purist (to a fault), I'm looking to reinstall stock air boxes.

So here's the deal; Anyone with a 1982-1988 (Lucas Ignition) V12 that fancies a little extra power and a little more growl- These intakes are yours! - All I ask for in return is your stock air boxes. They are fitted with lifetime K&N washable filters. I am located in Napa, California and can ship.

PM if interested!

Cheers

My apologies- I assumed they were cold air intakes but that's correct- They are an "Intake System" which substantially opens up the engine to breathe compared to the much narrower stock air intakes.

This is pulled directly from their website:

The QuickCat™ high performance air intake kit from V12 Performance™ is a high quality, easy to install performance upgrade for Jaguar XJS V12 cars that really works. The very restrictive XJS V12 factory air boxes are equipped with 1.5-inch diameter intake horns and dense air filters that significantly and unnecessarily limit the amount of air available to the engine, limiting horsepower especially at higher revs. To solve this problem, the rugged, all aluminum QuickCat™ kit (also available in stainless steel) features 2.5-inch intake tubes with K&N high flow air filters that allow your XJS V12 to breathe all of the air it needs to be its best. You’ll experience quite noticeable (15 to 20 HP) performance gains at higher revs (highway speeds and kickdown acceleration) with a pleasing but refined “sporting note” that adds a real sports car sound to your XJS. No permanent changes to the car are required and the factory air boxes can be easily refitted if necessary. Installation is a simple bolt-on, 30 to 45 minute operation. The only tools needed are a 13mm socket or box wrench/spanner, Allen wrench and a screwdriver.

The V12 Performance™ QuickCat™ kit with K&N high flow air filters, for either Lucas (to 1989) or Marelli (1989-on) ignitions, is available in a variety of finishes and includes everything needed for a complete installation - filters and intakes for both sides and all necessary clamps, hoses, grommets, bushings and fittings.

don't worry about it ecbjag, the term "cold air intake" has become generic term used to describe any aftermarket intake, even if there not true "cold air" intakes and its just one of those things the internet loves to correct people on. we all know what you mean. not hard to tell what it is i meant you included a picture of it after all.

Shoot I just re-read your offer. I guess you want the pre-Marelli/ABS boxes...Well if you don't care or get any takers....

I really would like these. I have a set off my parts car...but they are stock 89-90 Marelli-ABS air boxes.
Send me a PM if you can use mine.

Hey, ECB,I have a Cali spec,1986,that I haven't even begun to work on yet.It starts, runs, but needs a lot of work to get roadworthy again. As airbox mods were in the plan anyway,I am game for your offer if I am not too late....

I am still getting the hang of a new laptop, but if you need pics, and are still game, just let me know....

Cheers, Jim.

Hey Steve, thanks but unfortunately the airboxes on Marelli/ABS cars are different and I wouldn't want to chance either of us ending up with something that we couldn't use.

manwich66- I'm definitely interested, shoot me a PM for my phone number
