Will a series 3 XJ6 side tank fit in the wheelwells of an XJS? When my car was converted to a ragtop, they built a beautiful welded aluminum tank but it only holds 13-15 gallons. I have a tank out of my old 87 XJ6 and I wonder how much work it would take to make it fit!?

i used a 22gal. fuel cell,plastic, been 16yrs no RUST problems.

 

I thought about doing that, and still might as a last resort. I can't understand why they would make such a beautiful welded alum tank with such a small capacity? Weird.

Aside from that, I don't like how the fuel door is positioned either. It's set up almost perfect if you want to collect rainwater in the tank and/or trunk. I saved the twin chrome fuel doors from the XJ6 as well and they may become part of this cat during the body makeover.
