Default Help - Security & Cruise Modules

1996 4.0 Conv.
I removed this assemble years ago when doing some bodywork and never reinstalled it.
Finally decided to put it back and I have no idea how it's supposed to fit. The plugs don't even look the same.
Now I'm not even sure I have the correct part.
I looked in the workshop manual and model year updates but couldn't find anything helpful.
Does anyone with a '96 have a picture of how it should be installed and/or some documentation on wiring and installation?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there.

I am almost certain that that particular security unit belongs in a 92-93 model vehicle. The 95-96 units look completely different. Ours are these:

so I am not sure if this is an factory addition or what, but I am not sure where it would go

I take it you have looked behind the right rear light. there should be the connecters there. The white one fits into the white connecter, the brown is the antenna and fits the cable near the radio antenna and the yellow is to set up auto (plugged together) or manual activation (fob) unplugged.
The box with the black/red cable has a small 6v battery in it. no longer available but a similar is at batteries plus. The other box is the "bump/nudge" sensor.
The cable says 1992 so maybe not from you car, but also might be.

Thanks guys -
This unit must be from my '93 coupe that I gave to my son a while ago.
Now I just have to figure out what I did with the one for the '06.

If your 96 is starting, it must have the security module in place. It can not start otherwise, if I remember correctly

Maybe. I'll check with my son and see what he says.

How much is it worth. I have no idea.

No, but they're cheap on ebay. Like $14.
