Get a brass rod, slightly less in diameter than the threaded part of the rod, and drift it through with a hammer on the brass rod end. Note that the shockers can jam on the rod, and may have to be tapped vertical to it from time to time.

OK. IRS out, just could not do this with cage in, new Disks installed, New brakes (both disk and handbrakes, calipers rebuilt with stainless steel pistons, and whole IRS painted after cleaning and rust removal. Success, so far, not reinstall the cage and connect everything else back up.
