Default ID Wheels

Anyone know what wheels these are? They almost look like painted stock wheels, but they're clearly bigger (16" or 17" is my guess), and wider, at least in the rear. Really like the look of these.

They look like 1995-97 XJR wheels that have been painted black.

I agree, those are 95-97 XJR wheels that have been painted. 17" x 8" with 33mm offset. I'm not aware of them making different widths for the rear. Great looking wheels imo on an XJS, XJ40, X300, etc.

It certainly looks like you guys are right; anyone know how these fit up to an XJS? The specs on the XJR Supercharged wheels are: 8Jx17 ET33 with a 255/45 tire. And more than just fitting in the wheel wells - I'd want to make sure there isn't too much stress on the wheel bearings.

Based on this calculator comparing the stock 83 XJS wheels/tires vs. the XJR's, weight distribution should stay centered:

Nevermind, looks like I found the answer on this forum: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-wheels-65576/

"...So the late-90s 17" X 8" XJR wheels, with this "magic" offset and identical bolt pattern and hub bore are the easiest way to upgrade to a 17" X 8" wheel on the XJ-S."

Just be aware that 17" wheels can cause tramlining in a way that 15" and 16" won't. At one time I had a 1995 VDP with 16" wheels and a 1995 XJR with those 17" wheels and the VDP would drive much straighter and easier than the XJR. The XJR felt like it was twitchy and nervous, the VDP wafted along on the same piece of road.

Default XJR sport rims

Yes those are 95-97 XJR "Sport" rims. I found a painted pair and stripped them and they are great on an XJS.

Nice! 255 tires all the way around of just in back? Lowered at all?
