Default Independent Jag Techs Dallas area

I may be shipping my 92' V12 XJS Coupe to the Plano, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Texas area. Does anyone know of any good independent Jaq Techs in the area? I will be about 10 minutes from a dealer, but clearly am trying to avoid that... Thanks for the help!

Try:

KIP MOTOR COMANY
2127 Crown Road
Dallas, TX 75229
972-243-0440
888-243-0440
Parts, Service and Restoration for Metropolitan, London Taxi and Uncommon British Vehicles

My disclaimer: JCNA gave a talk at our local Jag club meeting this last winter. The talk was about an apprentice tech program. The JCNA rep brought a young man who is in the program, working for the company listed above. Since JCNA brought this person, I can only assume that the company he works for is reputable. I have had no contact or dealings with this company and cannot endorse them in any way.

Good Luck,

Scott

I doubt that the Jag dealer will even look at your car being 25 years old.

The car is likely older than some of the people that might work on the car???

The service writers will probably tell you to take it to a local independent shop.

I had an 86 XJ6 when I lived in Plano from 93 to 98 and used a shop called "Jag Mac". They were located in Dallas near my office. That was my first Jag and did not have any experience working on it and relied on their input. Mac was a nice guy back then and I thought he charged a fair price. I don't know if he still owns it now.

Ron, that's awesome that you lived here! I live 2 hrs east of Dallas and I have talked to Jag Mac before. But I use Jim's Jag Shop; they are friends and have had dealings with one another for years. Jim has been good to me, and I am friends with his employees.
@hercfe I would recommend either one, Jim's or JagMac! If one can't get you fixed fast enough, try the other.

Great, thanks guys! @Flint Ironstag, I would get it fixed here, but I don't know of any shops in the Philly area either...? lol! I just got it about 2 months ago, and am just getting to know the car. If anyone knows of a tech in the Philly area, I'll try them first.

I had a water leak at my water pump and made an appointment with Jag Mac to replace it. By the time I got it to him the head warped. He had a few rebuilt heads in stock so we replaced the head and water pump. The head studs needed to be replaced and were a bear to get out. While he was working on my XJ6 he loaned me a 86 XJ6 he had replaced the BW transmission with a GM 3 speed auto to show me how it had better acceleration. It was better than mine but declined to do the mod. Getting to the real point here, he charged $275.00 for the head and water pump replacement. I don't think I could have done it any cheaper and had a car to use. Of course that was back in late 93.
