I'm still trying to wrap my head around why someone's watching "Ghost dog"? 😂

OK, this is cracker. I saw it in London in about 1978 and I have been searching for it, on and off, for years, being unable to remember its title, only the plot. Anyway, at last I got the search terms right:
Adolescent coming of age French film, dubbed into English, French title:
"L' amant de poche" (the pocket lover). English title "Lover Boy". On YouTube:
About minute 23 starts the XJS sequence which appears throughout the film.
database entry:
The Pocket Lover (1978) - IMDb
Full film on something called Putlocker (no idea what this site is, I have not downloaded it):
Now Playing Lover Boy (1978) Free at Putlocker

Speed Zone! 1989.

I'm guessing this one didn't survive this scene.

The Hess & Eisenhardt convertible driven and crashed in the movie Speed always comes to mind.

Here is a good resource for movie and tv appearances of the XJS:

There's a brown 1986ish one in Fletch. Does anyone happen to know which brown? I think it suits the car very well on screen. I wonder if it looks as good in person.

Yeah, me too, I always cite that scene when it comes XJS in movies because the car looks impressive, as it happens in a bright sunny day, on the freeway at freeway speed with Keanu Reeves jumping from the bus into the convertible at that speed.

Of course, it may also be because I can describe it as "there, that's exactly like my car"... although mine is a face lift, but they all look almost the same, anyway.

Cheers,

Why hasn't anyone mentioned The Saint ? Being British, that was the biggest connection I had with the XJ-S as a child.

Rhett with "S TMPLAR", where are you!

A few memorable XJS appearances: Scent of a Woman ('92 coupe) and as mentioned, Fletch (82 coupe), Trial and Error (94 conv).
