Default New Owner First Parts order List

Good evening

I plan to make my first parts order for my 1994 6.0 convertible in the next 48 hours. Given that my order(s) will require international shipping due to my location in Abu Dhabi I would prefer not to miss anything silly off the order. Would other forum members please be so kind to take a look at the below parts list that I am planning to purchase and let me know if you think I have missed anything. It is likely to be the small things that get forgotten but you never know....

Cooling hose kit

Fan automatic viscous clutch

Thermostats

AC condenser mounting bushes

Tie rod end boots

Front sub frame mounts (small cracks)

Radiator caps x2

Valve cover gaskets x2

Rear suspension bushings

Engine oil pan gasket

Spark plugs

Spark plug leads

Distributor cap

Rotor

Plastic throttle bushings

Metal Expansion tank

Intake manifold gaskets-2pcs left and right

Water pump

oil filter

air filters

Ah, a month's wages and then some!

Quite a list, and some things to pay special attention to - you can avoid the thermostat fiasco among other things, I'd suggest:
https://www.superflex.co.uk/products.php?cat=211 for bushings.

K&N make a good reusablwle high flow filter I've had luck with their latest batch. Amazon, rockauto, etc good places to look.

Genuine heavy OEM rad caps come from JaguarClassicParts.com most listed on other sites don't actually work.

Be aware that the OEM thermostats are actually not correct. The foot that blocks off the bypass port doesn't extend far enough to actually block it off, so approximately half of the water never goes through the radiator. In your climate the cooling system needs to be running at 100% capacity. Instead use Gates 33188S, but you will need to drill a small (~5/64") hole in the top flange as an air bleed. Installing these thermostats made a noticeable difference to the cooling capacity of my car.

If you're doing as much servicing as that, you might want to add a transmission filter and pan gasket, unless those are available locally. The transmission is a GM 4L80E, used in plenty of GMC/Chevrolet products.

I think it was only sold in Australia/NZ and is now discontinued.

I would suppose a ‘94 to have electric fans. That means you can delete the viscous clutch from your list...

Not the V12, it kept the mechanical plus electric.
