Need to double check I have the right numbers. I read that our XJS' (I have an '82) read 33 ohms off the unit for a full tank and 240 ohms for an empty tank. Can anyone verify if this is correct?

Hi Mat, I'll pull mine out tomorrow and check it for you, I have looked through the ROM but can not find anything about the fuel sender.

I had my tank out - only put it back in yesterday the fuel gauge has always been dodgy, I pulled it apart and found the wipers not making contact properly - I bent them and had variable continuity from empty to full but did not take note of the values.

 

I had mine rebuilt by rewinding wires and cleaning all internals, however it gave me reading that was a bit off, so I ended up purchasing new unit on eBay, for about $60. BTW, reading you have seem right on the bottom, however on top mine was showing almost no resistance.

 

Mine shows 19Z and 240Z. but this may not be 100% correct but the readings are better than it was before.
