Where do I find a rubber diaphragm to replace the split diaphragm I have in my 1977 preHE ?
I have previously found it on eBay (without buying...), but now it seems to be hard to find.
I do not have a problem with using alternative solutions, so I'm also interested if anyone has found another solution, that works.
I prefer sellers in Europe due to import tax and handlings fee...

Aldridge Trimming https://www.aldridge.co.uk/ can make you one, or you can do as I did; this was to use a post-seat-change diaphragm. It is the same length front to back, but about an inch narrower side to side. This can be compensated for by using two fixing dogs each side instead of one. Works perfectly still, after 18 years. The fixing dogs are those pieces of thick metal wire, hooked each end, that hold the diaphragm to the frame. Just hook two together to make the side ones longer so it can be hooked to the frame. Use some of the dogs from the old diaphragm.
Also these people advertise them: https://www.john-skinner.co.uk/jaguar/xj-s/

a quick google revealed some on USA Ebay, and at XKs unlimited in California; but I would have thought asking Aldridge or Skinner would be no dearer.
Some have used trampoline mat material. Google trampoline mat or trampoline replacement parts. It is not elastic like the original rubber but you can add springs around where hard clips would normally be to offer more "give". Just cut to shape and have an upholsterer sew an edge for grommets or rings.
I have a 2CV as well, so I’m also considering to use same type suspension as used here. Rubber straps are readily available , so what I will need is to make a centerpiece from strong fabric
I bought a set just like in the picture for my 1987 XJ-SC, but they did not fit and had "Aston Martin" badges on them - sold as "XJS early style" from a UK-based establishment called JagShop. They did not handle it well - do not do business there!
