Default source for hand brake micro switch?

So, thanks to all of the posters, it IS indeed the micro-switch in the hand brake. At least, we're 99% sure of it.

Now...what's the best source for one? If anyone has replaced it and has info, it would make the hunt much easier I know. TIA!

A quick google of the part number brings this up:
https://www.britishparts.co.uk/produ...dbrake-DAC3351

Apparently this one also works: Low Cost Standard Microswitch with Roller | Maplin

Thanks. The Maplin switch is only available to those in Ireland or the UK. I've sent a note to the other company - theirs is significantly more expensive, but may be the only one available :-(.

That's a common microswitch. They are used in dental equipment as well of countless other applications. I've picked them up at local electronics stores here in Canada.

i'm looking for this switch too, but i suspect the DAC3351 is for the coupe. my convertible has a parking brake interlock for the droptop and there are three leads. this switch only has 2 spades on it. if anyone knows the part number for the switch with 3 spades, i'd be much obliged.

I just bought one two weeks ago from Coventry West.

Coventry West - Jaguar and Land Rover Parts

Wasn't expensive, but I forget exactly what I paid since I bundled it with a few other things. It was used, but it worked great.

Correct. That Britpart switch is not the right one for any model. I bought one and found out the hard way. I told them but they did not believe me!
As you said, you need a three terminal microswitch which are NLA in the UK at least from Jaguar and the specialists. I ended up buying a pack of these:

i ended up ordering this. it's a 16 amp switch like the DAC3351, but it's a Single Pole Double Throw. I expect to have to bend the actuator.

I think this will not do it, certainly will not on pre-facelifts. You need three terminals.

I think this one might work too: https://www.digikey.ca/product-detai...1C5-ND/2754900

Or this one: https://www.digikey.ca/product-detai...378-ND/1824838

There are lots to choose from.
