Default Thread for spring pan bolts

Hey,

I'm getting frustrated with my springs and spring pans. Living in a purely metric country, you can't simply go to the nearest hardware shop and get some imperial sized threaded rods...

So I need to order them. As far as I have found out, the screws are normally 0.375". But what thread is on them? BSW? Fine? Corse?

Dammit, all I need is 4x 250m long rods but I have to place a SPECIAL order here for that...

Cheers people!

The thread is UNF. You can buy UNF threaded rod all over UK Ebay. A good idea to have some in stock. Or/also buy a UNF and UNC tap and die set, very useful, cheap, and has got me out of fixes countless times. Well worth cleaning up the threads with a tap in the bottom wishbone before reassembly too. Sometimes, even so, the bolts refuse to start and having a tap to do them with the pan in situ is also a great wheeze.

Cheers Greg!

Yeah, I'll get some as a spare part in case...

€19.90/910 mm... A standard M10 rod costs less than €2/1000 mm

I don't think that you will need 250m long rods as there will be a little bit left over!

If it makes you feel any better, I removed the springs from an X300 last night and had to special order metric threaded rod. I could have bought inch sized rod off the shelf, there was lots in stock!
