Default Throttle Vacuum Switch - 84 XJS

Greeting,

i was advised by the local Jag supplier here in West Oz, Roadbend, that the Throttle Vacuum switch is no longer available.

Mine is working ok, even though i have had to solder up the terminals a coupla times.....

Leaves the question of where to get one from if i do need a replacement unit....?....or is there an alternative unit out there.....?

attached a pic of the one of the mistress.

Regards

Darren

Darren,

That is the very old style switch, used on the PreHE and He in the early builds.

It was replaced by what we all call the Blue/White throttle switch. I have the part number somewhere, and I will find it as soon as I can and let you know.

Darren,

I have hit a brick wall.

I cannot find the part number for the later Blue/White valve.

I found a valve in one of the boxes of stuff, but no package with a part number, and it does not hold vacuam.

I will keep looking, I must have it somewhere.

Thanks Greg,

Thats the PreHE and early HE unit that is now coming up NLA, so maybe old stock, and at that price they will live with it.

I will contact my guys in the morning with that part number, and see if it supercedes to the Blue/White unit, hope so.

On the JCP site as linked, there is a huge list of the things, when you expand the part number reference 1, for various different markets. Maybe your later one is in the list somewhere? The above is the UK one listed for cars up to the facelifts.

That 20mm sounds around the mark.

Here is the snap I found of this Blue/White valve, BUT, I cannot find the part number.
