How on earth are you supposed to get the rubber bush / bobbin into the transmission mount - had it in the press and no amount of lube makes it play nice. Is there a special tool for this task - can't see one in the books.
I have not had issues with either version, FROM THE TOP.
Lots of Silicon Spray, few beers of course, and thumb work to work it in, much like removing a tyre from a rim with tyre levers (old school method for the younguns).
Time, for sure, and just keep at it,
The thumbs will HATE you when done, but it is very doable.
Greg is right, of course, the OE is easier, but back when I was doing these regularly, OE was on back order, and Poly was in stock, no brainer.
You forgot to mention suitable fat sockets and a large rubber mallet. I also printed an 'installation cone' - it did not survive but it helped get the job done - did it from underneath the mount - made a royal mess of the paint job on the mount
Now not only do my thumbs hate me but my wrists and fingers - all hail arthritis curse of the high mileage club - I'll be a week recovering from this !!!
No idea, didn't realise that either, but I'm not a big phone user. I do visit Bernards place from time to time. I got things reassembled and the engine is back in the car - well between the frame rails on axle stands. I was hoping to get the trans mount bolted up leaving the engine alone on the stands but I hurt in too many places after doing that bobbin and manhandling the engine and trans back in.
