Default V-12 Jaguar Exhaust video Magnaflow muffler

Thought I'd create a new thread for future searchers looking for exhaust options.

My car has gutted cats, 4" round Magnaflow mufflers in center position and resonator tips (glass packed) in rear. Pipes run under differential.

It is loud but despite it being loud, with a slight drone at 1500 RPM it sounds fantastic.

But, I'm going to add a resonator behind the muffler to knock out the drone.

(FYI-the reason for this muffler choice was that I originally planned to mount in rear position but then changed my tip style after I had the mufflers and I couldn't use these tips with the muffler mounted in rear. I could've exchanged the mufflers for larger ones that fit center position but I rolled the dice on the sound. With exhaust, you never really know until you try it)

What size pipe did you run from the cats back?

2" pipe all the way back. Installer slightly crushed the pipe where it goes under the differential to add some ground clearance. I've also subsequently added two Walker 4" diameter resonators behind the mufflers. I will post up a new video but the difference in volume is slight. The resonators took out some rasp and also knocked down a drone at 1500 RPM.

Interesting side note: The guy that built the exhaust is a perfectionist. When I cut 20" of pipe out of the exhaust the front and rear sections didn't move AT ALL. I could believe how well bent balanced/supported it was. He has a 4.9 star rating on 30 reviews on Google.

Andy
Do you have any closeup photos of the exhaust on the car and also the fixings your specialist used, please?

Sounds neat, but I miss some "omph". Some crackling... Some "bommmmm bom bom bommm"

Please note that this is my work after the exhaust was complete. I added the resonator behind the muffler and mucked up the original work a little.

Wow, great job!

NowthatswhatImtalkinabout!

Having played around with the exhaust on my '90 so much that I don't really care to delve into it again, I have to say that I am amazed at what leaving the gutted cats does to the sound! I run AJ6 TT's, and I have tried the glass packs and chambered and turbos and on and on and on some more. I have a pretty nice sound right now, but I am quite made up over what you've got there with such a simple setup.

Nicely done!
