Default Weeping fluid at bleed bolt assembly

I purchased my new wizard cooling radiator and a new fan clutch and fan blade. I carefully removed the old radiator and fan clutch following instructions I found on this forum. I put everything back together. I was careful to keep the copper washers and put the bleed bolt assembly back the way it was. That is, copper washer, spacer, copper washer, bleed pipe, copper washer, bolt. However, that assembly weeps fluid. I tried to tighten it up but doesn't seem to stop leaking. Do I need to buy some new copper washers or slightly thicker washers? Kind of Stumped. I am guessing some of you may have gone through this and have some advice. If I try to crank it down any harder I am afraid I am going to break something or strip the threads.

The only advice I have to start with is to anneal your copper washers. Copper work hardens, so re-using them doesn't always let them set correctly. Heat them red-hot with a torch, and then drop them into some water. Then try. If that doesn't stop the bleed, we can get more creative.

New washers will do it. Also fibre washers work well if not too thick.

As said, NEW copper washers, and ensure there is lube (Anti-Seize) or similar on the threads of that Banjp bolt.

I agree with Edelweiss. Copper washers can be made like new simply by heating them with a torch.

I purchased a new kit, heaps better.

Longer bolt so it has more threads, internal holes line up better...
This will solve your issue.

Your copper washers are no longer soft to conform to the surface. Anneal ort replace. Better washers for this application are available..

Thanks. I have gone ahead and ordered this. I think it does sound better. I was going to give new washer's a try but I like the description of this kit. Thanks. when it comes in I will have to post how it worked out.

This new bolt, washers and spacer arrived today. Installed it and tested and it works great. no leaks. It was well worth the wait and it seems very well made. I am pretty happy with this replacement.
