Damn your XJS just looks sinister in the background. Such an awesome car. Nothing like it, and nothing like it since.

Cheers mate... I love the XJ-S more than the XJ Don't tell the XJ that... But the XJ-S is just so much more than "just" a car...

A great looking stable! I agree about the XJ-S. It looks excellent in the background.

Finally got the connectors in that I ordered for my ignition harness rebuild. All I have to do now is start rebuilding.

Daim. Where did you find that Leaper? Is it bronze colour or is it just the picture?

Ebay. Brand new... Only cost €55 with a free keyring leaper. It isn't bronze... Won't stay as shiney as it currently is

Quote: Yes, they are cloth inserts but not a nasty cloth. Feels like alcantara...

Black interiors are my favorite. The headliner is "beigy-grey" so that will be replaced with black

Black on black on black
Daim, Are you doing the headliner? or will you farm it out? My baby's XJS needs one and I've been thinking since I can't get one for a 1985 new I'll just do the work.

Well, you can see how the car looks here:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...2/#post1145706

Regarding what happened... Well, I intended on using the car for winter too... So I bought some good recommended winter tyres. They were on the car in the moment the car decided to let it's rear overtake the front. I steered against that to straighten up again, just resulting in the rear overtaking finally. I slid sideways into the curb, jumped into a sign, landed on some concrete slabes, slid along them into a chainlink fence and slammed into a small tree.

The car is written off, as it would cost a lot more to rebuild than it is worth. So it is a write off. My brother is trying to convince me to rebuild, but I can't, as it doesn't make any sense and I am sure that the car was cursed.

So I'll be parting it out (or selling as a whole). The interior is really top notch. The engine and tranny are totally healthy and run well. The exhaust was sheared off from the downpipe back and wrapped around/before the rear axle. Both front doors are shoved back (hinges buckled). The wings torn open. The sill on the drivers side is eavily damaged.

I am fairly well. I got no fractures but LOADS of pulled muscles and whiplash syndrome... My knee (left side) whacked into the door card (luckily they are well padded). My hips hurt.

Glad to hear that you're ok, sorry about the car, but you may be right abut the curse.

For some reason I thought it was the XJS. Glad that's still ok. Too soon to think about a replacement for the sedan yet?

Another X300 XJ6. I really liked the way it drove. Great drive... So I'll get another one.

Maybe an AWD x type if you still want the traditional look. Not as sleek as the x300 but AWD helps. I use it a a daily driver

Have you thought of an XJR6? All the same goodies but heaps more power.

I'd love an XJ6R or XJR but I can't afford to run one in daily traffic... The XJ has to be useable as a daily driver and that is where it sticks... The XJR would be too good to use as a DD.

Daim
I am very glad you are basically OK. However, a word of caution. The XJS is a jealous Goddess, she has sent you an amber warning. For a second Jaguar, maybe safer to buy a 6 cylinder XJS, or a drophead model, that way your current XJS can have no envy or enmity... Sisters rather than rivals...

Well, as I urgently need a car for everyday driving and my XJ-S is a very slow project, I've decided to see if I can sell her... Mainly as well because I am too tall for an XJ-S with sunroof...

If it doesn't sell for a price I will except, I'll keep her...
