Default Where to find accurate value of the car?

Hi folks:

I'm in a financial spot and going to be filing bankruptcy. A friend with the available funds has expressed interest in it. I have to sell it at what it's actually worth and use the money for debts. How do I find how much it is actually worth? Edmunds gave me the number $1,850. I don't know if that's accurate...

Execution value is always lower than the actual value.

But I don't know where to find either of these numbers. Other than a general, ball-park figure.

it boils down to how much the seller will accept!
not the value, because just 20yrs ago , XJS were selling for under $1000. , some as low as $250. bucks, many times!
its only recently that prices are SLOWLY moving up!
some pix of two Jaguars i own , BOTH given to me for NOTHING(no cost just get off property) or going to junkyard!
because owners were old guys and had lost touch with emerging market change, (its a bitch gettin old).

1975 Jaguar XJ12C coupe

manual shift V12,

1978 XJS roadster complete restore 100%

XJS engine, a lot of money in it$$$$$$$$$.
both were up for sale , coupe sold, XJS is up,so far only insults, because EVEN car sales people dont know OLD Jaguar values!
they look in OLD used car sales books! DUH!

Hello Dain

In Oz - we also have magazines such as "Unique Cars" that have a value guide in the back.
Has 3 options of Fair, good and great (or something like that).

I am presuming you will have something similar in your area of the world - should give you an idea

Cheers
Steve

I wouldn't look at Edmunds for a fair value. Hagerty.com is a much better guide. $1850 is a ridiculously low value unless the car is a junker.

It would be helpful to post details about the car and detailed photos. It’s obviously going to depend on the condition of the exterior, interior and mechanical state. A low mileage 95 V12 is going to cost more than a early 80’s car. An XJR-S will cost even more.

Dont sell the Jag. It should be the only car you keep. Let everything else go. Depending on what chapter youre filing under you dont have to sell the cat. If youre tired of it, and see it as a way to get better sleep shoot me pics of your car with pics and details. I will get you a good price for it. No insults

Definitely NOT tired of it. Just having a hard time figuring a way to keep it. Filing Chap 7. Problem is that it's in storage right now. I definitely do not want to get rid of it. Soo many memories in that car. Like driving the pacific coast highway from Big Sur to San Francisco. And then driving from Monterey, CA to San Angelo, TX. What a ride.
