Default XJS Station wagon?

Please correct me if I am wrong. I was out today taking my daughter for a driving lesson and thought I saw what appeared to be an XJS wagon!(estate)
It looked a bit like a Jensen interceptor only bigger an more square in the rear. Did Jaguar make anything like this or was it a custom job?

Hi

It could have been a lynx eventer. An aftermarket modified xjs.

Google it and see if it matches what you saw.

This side of the pond they were called sporting brakes instead of estates.

Default Lynx looks like it

They were called station wagons here, I thought estate was a UK term.
But the Lynx Sporting Brake certainly looks like what I saw, though I did only catch a passing glimpse. It did have twin round headlights.
It looked very like the red one, only it was maroon in colour.

Estate is a uk term and the common name for station wagons.

I think shooting brake comes from stage coach days and/or the gentry having a posher term for an estate.
