Default 2007 XKR Coupe with no emblem?

Hi all!

I've always loved the XKR's and I have one 'in the pipe' to purchase at the end of the month. I went down today to give it the good 'once over' and, it's immaculate but, the only thing I DID notice is that, as opposed to the 'growler' emblem on the front grill, it just has a flat black 'button'?

When I asked the dealer about it, he said that, because it has the adaptive cruise control, it never had the emblem?

Is this true?

If not, this could be a deal breaker, (love the car, but really hate being lied to!)

Thanks so much everyone!

Never heard of that. Every other XK/XKR I've ever seen has a Growler emblem, ACC or not. Some years the emblem can be popped off the grill. I think he just doesn't want to replace it at a fairly high price for what it actually is.

Thanks so much Cee Jay! I'll address it in a diplomatic way, but, if it's supposed to be there, he'll have to get it on

Have a read of this thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-alert-107684/ it shows the actual location of the radar transceiver.

Thanks Cambo, I was giving that one a read earlier, and, comparing the photos of the steering wheel, it does indeed have the ACC, but, I'm seeing nothing saying that the Growler emblem isn't part of it.

Looking at the location, there's no reason an emblem would affect it. I think he's either mistaken or just being dishonest.

One of the first things that stood out to me, why is there a flat black, plastic 'button' in the middle of a wire grille? Made no sense.

As a past owner of a 2007 XKR coupe with ACC, I know for a fact that mine had the growler emblem on the front grill. The reason I know, is that I was looking into changing it and on the wheel hubs from black to red growlers....
But, the one on the front grill was definitely there!!

Katmac, you should have the growler ACC or not. Here's a pic of my previous XKR, an 07.

ACC is a little to side of the emblem is memory serves...

Figure $500 installed for a new OEM upper grill, so beat him up on the price a little. Maybe they can install it and save?

The ACC sensor is located above the grille, in the front of the nose assembly. The grille badge has nothing whatever to do with the ACC.
On the 2017 Jaguars the ACC sensor IS located at the grill badge and the badge is mounted on a transparent rectangular bit of plastic. This is the procedure with all new cars. On the Mercedes, however, the plastic piece is integrated into the design of the grille; the Jaguuar mesh grille does not permit this integration.

Nürburgring Nordschleife - Jaguar XK - YouTube
This XK is a heavily disguised pre-production test mule that has all identifying features modified with black tape and all badges removed, including the Growler in the grille. Note that the backing plate is still there at 1:01 of the video, painted black to match the grille and be less visible.

All production X150 models left the factory properly attired with a Growler grille badge.
