Welcome to the 2008 Porfolio club! You made an awesome buy! trust me the only good reason to loose a nights sleep over it is impatience to get behind it's wheel. I have the identical car (except for the American walnut trim, which Sir Norman Dewis signed the last time I met him). Its has 50k perfect trouble-free miles, and it still feels like a very special treat everytime I drive it. I have made the following modifications to my car and have found the were all well worth doing: fit a Quaife limited slip diff, remove fuse 19, fit WhiteXKR's roof controller, and fit a 2009 or newer bluetooth (phone) module.

I am wondering if your new XKR is a coupe or convertible? Mine is a coupe.

I really like the engine cover. Where did you source and buy it? I have an 08 Portfolio XKR coupe in Vancouver Canada.

Is there a similar thread for the 2009 Portfolios?

I had a number of pieces re-styled using the Hydrographics process. They turned out really good. This subject has been mentioned here numerous times. Do a Search....

My new "to me" ride is a rag top, with the charcoal interior, trimmed in aluminum. It looks phenomenal and I can't wait to get it home. I'm not completely certain, but I'm thinking it's got every option known to Man...

I'm not sure if the US-market 2008 XKR Portfolio models came with every available feature as standard equipment. The Alcon performance brake package was standard equipment on the 2008 XKR Portfolio, but it became a $5,000 option on the 2009 XKR Portfolio. Adaptive Cruise Control was a $2,200 option on the 2009 XKR Portfolio and I think, but am not certain, that ACC was standard equipment on the 2008 XKR Portfolio. I'm asking you 2008 XKR Portfolio owners for clarification. Because my 2009 XKR Portfolio did not come with a heated steering wheel, I suspect that is also true for the 2008. That's puzzling because it has all the other features in the Luxury and Technology packages. IPod connectivity didn't become available until 2009, but the dealer-installed Audio Connectivity Module accessory can be fitted to earlier models.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I still enjoy mine! There is lots of valuable information on this Forum, and many helpful members.

Thanks Stuart. I will likely be looking for the iPod connectivity module you're speaking of. I'm spoiled by having it in my wife's '15 XF.

The Portfolio limited edition ($12,000 option) for the XKR adds Alcon brakes with six-piston calipers in front and four-piston calipers in the rear, 20-inch polished alloy wheels, polished aluminum power side vents, leather-edged floor mats, a 525-watt Bowers & Wilkins sound system with Sirius Satellite radio, and Celestial Black metallic paint. Buyers can choose American Walnut or engine-spun aluminum interior trim at no extra cost. Also included is the XKR Luxury Package described above. Jaguar said that just 255 Portfolio Editions would be available in the U.S. Adaptive cruise control is available as a stand-alone option ($2,200). You also had the choice of white or black leather interior. The heated steering wheel is part of the included Luxury Package. I don't think Adaptive Cruise Control was available for this car in 2008.

Default Heated Steering Wheel?

So, how different are the 2008 and 2009 XKR Portfolios?

1. Exterior paint and wheels: 2008 Celestial Black/Cremona and 2009 Shadow Gray/Selena
2. Alcon brakes - standard for 2008, a $5,000 option in 2009.
3. Adaptive Cruise Control - a $2,200 option in both 2008 and 2009.
4. Heated steering wheel - not available in 2009. Does the 2008 have it?
5. iPod Connectivity - not available in 2008, standard in 2009.

Does the 2008 XKR Portfolio have a heated steering wheel?

My 2008 portfolio conv has adaptive cruise, but does not have a heated steering wheel (not that I miss that here in AZ).
I would definitely love vented seats though, that I believe were only available from 2009.
I keep wondering how hard it would be to retrofit vented seats into my car.

My '08, just received yesterday, has Adaptive Cruise too! Only thing missing on this car is a wine bar...

Default Need Confirmation of Features

I just recently purchased my 2008 XKR Portfolio Convertible w/ only 10,400 miles. This machine is awesome! (of course I dont have to tell this forum how awesome it is)

After reading the manual and then going to my car to trial the features mention in manual I am a bit perplexed. Can someone clarify which features I should and shouldn't expect... such as:
1) Heated Steering Wheel?
2) Electronic Folding Side Mirrors?

Also I am having issues with Bluetooth Syncing my Samsung S7 Active Phone. It says paired but it is not connected. Any advice?

Thank you

Welcome! Did you just buy it? I'm amazed it still has such low miles after all these years, especially given how much fun they are to drive.
