Default 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Edition Registery

In an effort to determine who owns a 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Edition, I am starting this Registry for the owners of the PE.

Tell us what you own, Coupe or Convertible, options, interior colors, type dash, mileage etc and location, city only. Perhaps we can build a listing of USA owners, Canada, and Australia for this Limited Edition Jaguar XKR.

Did I read this right? Grits 'n cornbread in Minnesota? I didn't think they could survive the winters!

Seriously, what color is your Portfolio's interior?

Having both Alcon brakes and adaptive cruise makes your car rare. If it has the Ivory/Slate interior, it is even more rare as most Portfolios have Charcoal/Cranberry stitched interiors.

Mine has the Charcoal/Cranberry stitch interior. As far as the rest of it goes, I figured that if I was going to buy a car that goes fast, I had better make it idiot proof and able to stop on a dime.

Regarding my choice of username, I'm kind of an odd duck when it comes to food. I prefer a big ol' hunk of cornbread dunked in salty grits in the morning, and later, maybe a big bowl of Pho or Poutine. Since I live ten minutes from Wisconsin, I have access to good cheese which also lends itself to the occasional bowl of cheesy grits if I've been a good boy. Seriously, you'd think that after that kind of diet, I'd need to grease myself up to get through the door. Heh.

I contacted Jaguar back in early 2011 and asked if a build sheet was available and received the attached reply listing the features the car was equipped with.
I also sent them an email in 2010 asking about production numbers and I have also attached this.

Default Spare Wheel/Tire for XKRs with Alcon Brakes

Since there are several XKR Portfolios with the optional Alcon brakes, I thought it would be helpful to post the link to the above-titled thread, which details the history of my quest for a spare, should you wish to add a spare wheel/tire to your car:

On the bottom left is the OEM inflator that came with the Alcon option. On the top left is the case that holds my $9.95 Harbor Freight torque wrench. Wheel nuts should be torqued to 92 lb. ft. per the 2009 Jaguar XK/XKR Owner's Manual. Note that the wrench should be set to zero when not in use. I had to remove the molded liner to get the spare to fit in the well.

If you add the spare, let us know in this thread.

Thanks Stuart for the tip on the Harbor Freight torque wrench. It will be added to my tire well by the end of the week. This is something I did not think about or even consider.

Default 2009 XKR Portfolio Edition Current pricing

Many times when we own a premium automobile like the 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Editon either coupe or convertible, we wonder how the value is holding up.

With only 180 Coupes and 200 Convertibles imported into the USA for the 2009 MY our cars are certainly considered "rare" Jaguars.

In an effort to determine current pricing on these cars, I thought I would take an idea from another forum member and list a few 2009 XKR PE's that are currently for sale. While we will never know what these cars final selling price will be, it does provide a good idea of the marketplace, whether we are BUY, HOLD or SELL owners.

So, here are a few links of current 2009 XKR Portfolio Edition Jaguars for sale. If you see any "For Sale" ads on our models please feel free to post them on our Registry. At least we will have a "rough" idea of what the current market is for these automobiles. Some owners might care less, but I feel it is always nice to know current values.

Guys, I wasn't sure where else to post this.

First, I'm currently having my front Alcon brakes done. After the dealer gave me some astronomical quotes I took it to a highly rated Jag mech here in Dallas (European Service Center), who quoted me costs of over $600 for each front rotor and about $220 for each from brake pad. As an alternative to purchasing new rotors, he suggested resurfacing (not machining) them instead. The rotors didn't look scarred at all to me, but I'm no expert. Should be done tomorrow, so I'll see how this works.

Secondly, my suspension. Here in Uptown Dallas, the streets are a mess in places. Before getting my XKR, I had a '96 Acura TL, and never really noticed, but now I feel every hole and crack and some are quite bone-jarring. Do you all experience this? Is it just my never having owned a sports car before? Or might it be that I need to replace suspension parts? Shocks? Or could I replace the current parts for more forgiving ones?

Any thoughts?

My unlce has one its the grey color with black convertible roof(will be mine soon), I did not know how rare it was until I saw this thread. I knew his 2012 or 2011( forgot which year) #1 of #50 Neiman Marcus XJL Supersport was rare, and Yes #1 was correct. He might have the first of the XKR Profolio editions As well since he always gets the first of everything(I know weird right)

Sorry I didn't see your post sooner; my reply might be too late to be of any help, but I thought you might like to know my experience anyway.

In June 2012 I had my dealer install new OEM front pads at 30K miles while my Alcon rotors were still in good shape with no scoring. Just a basic "pad slap" without turning the rotors. I told my service manager that I would assume the risk if there was any noise, vibration, or pulling; there were no issues at all and the brakes are still OK. As a result, my original Alcon rotors should be good for another 30K miles. In my experience, turned (resurfaced) rotors always warp eventually and you have to replace them. Alcon rotors are expensive at over $500 each plus labor, so I saved well over $1,000. See my post #3 in this earlier thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ke-dust-75789/
