Welcome to the Forum!

Tell us more about your car - with only 17K miles, it might be the lowest mileage 2009 XKR Portfolio Convertible.

I'm using my cellphone and your avatar is too small for me to clearly see the color of the interior, but I believe it's Charcoal with Cranberry stitching. Please post more photos and details about your rare gem. Do you have the CarFax? Is it completely original?

Previous owners and locations would be interesting.

See: How Rare Is My 2009 XKR Portfolio Convertible?

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine!

Stuart

2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio coupe purchased in November, 2024, at 47,264 miles. Ivory interior with wood-grain dash. List of optional OEM equipment when purchased new (per DecodeThis.com) included heated steering wheel, genuine wood trim, and chrome Coventry Whitley wheels. Upgrades I’ve done include painting the brake calipers, enabling AUX and installing a JagAux Bluetooth adapter with an auxiliary-input jack in console, a front "R" badge, a Sho-N-Go quick release front license plate holder, and installation of a CTEK battery maintainer.

I live in Tyler, Texas, which is about 110 miles east of Dallas.

I believe that you are mistaken about your 2009 XKR Portfolio coupe being equipped with a heated steering wheel. See:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...g-wheel-46892/

Please post a photo of the Home menu on your touch screen. The heated steering wheel control is an icon (steering wheel) in between the controls for the right and left seat heater icons. If there is a blank space between my seat heater icons, your car does not have a heated steering wheel.

If you have a steering wheel icon in between the left and right seat heater icons, please post a photo of your door sill plate embossed with "PORTFOLIO".

Stuart S, I didn’t realize this was such a hot-button issue (pun intended). As I wrote, “per DecodeThis.com”, I was merely documenting what they listed. As I live in the south, I’ve never had the occasion to need its missing steering-wheel heater. I have edited my original post to make everyone happy.

@KurtC I agree with you. Written correspondence must be clear to avoid misteaks.

P.S. You stated: " I have edited my original post to make everyone happy.". Exactly!

@Circumnavigator , I purchased the 'R' badge from eBay (link), but I now see that this seller has the item listed as 'Out of Stock'. This new listing (link) seems to be the exact same item under a different seller name.

I simply affixed it to the front grill using the adhesive that came with the badge; however, after a few months it came off when towel drying the car. So I have reaffixed the badge using a much stronger 3M double-sided tape (
link link
).
.

.
When removing the original adhesive from the badge, I discovered two threaded “nuts” on the backside of the badge.
.

.
If it falls off again, I will attempt to reaffix it once again using these. Unfortunately, spacing of the badge’s nuts does not appear to match spacing of the front grill. So if I want to attach it with two bolts, I may have to JB Weld a nut at the correct spacing. My plan is to make all-threads by cutting the heads off two machine screws and JB Weld them into the badge’s nuts. I believe it will be easier to reach up behind the grill to attach two washers/nuts than to try to attach two washers/screws from behind the grill.

Awesome, thanks @KurtC

Ive seen many variants of where the red and green are.
I want the front to be identical to the rear stock one.

All 2009 XKR Portfolio models came from the factory with a green and red //R badge on the right rear of the trunk lid. They did not come from the factory with that //R badge on the front grille. The same applies to all 2009 XKR models.

Many Forum members have added //R badges to their cars. The front grille //R badge became standard equipment on 5.0L XKR models, but I don't remember in which model year that began.

Yes. I want to add one to the 08 I’m picking up next week. Hence asking Kurt if he remembers where he got his.
