2012 XKR Keys not working
I have recently purchased an XKR convertible 2012. Last week a tracking device was installed on the vehicle and when the work was completed the remote keys would not work. Car currently at jaguar dealers waiting to be fixed. They have told me there are number of faults on ECU and need to investigate further. I need to find out whether problem has been caused by tracker installer or if problem was already present. I have checked cctv footage from before work was done and while work was being done and have noticed that even before work was carried out, if the car was unlocked via door handle (not Key) the front and rear LEDs flickered until vehicle was started and then all was ok. This did not happen if car was unlocked using key fob. Anyone got any thoughts on this

I bought my 2012 XKR three weeks ago. All seemed ok with car until tracking device was installed last week. Now none of my key fobs work meaning I can only drive the car with key in slot. Car currently at main dealer awaiting repair. Dealer says there are a number of faults on ECU. I have studied cctv footage of my car from before work was done and while work was being done and noticed that when the car is unlocked using handle instead of fob the front daytime and rear LEDs flicker until the car is started. This does not happen if unlocked using fob. While tracker was being fitted the leds continuously flickered. Does anyone have any idea if fault was present before work was carried out or if fitting the tracker is likely to be the cause and if the ECU can be reset or if needs replacing. Any info would be useful as I am not sure if the tracker company or the garage which sold me the car should be responsible for cost of repair

I agree and there is no doubt that either the device causes the problem or it was an installation issue. Unless you remove it and make sure the connection are restored you won't know. The worse case would be the installation or the product fried something. Has this unit ever been installed in a Jaguar and has the installer ever installed one in a Jag.
