2012 XKRS Coupe: Should I Buy It?
Yes that grey one above is a copy but XKR-S models are about from the date the OP quotes: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...uar-xk-r-s-10/
The differences are too obvious to confuse. The red one in my link (quite probably the one the OP is talking about) is from 05/2011 and is pretty likely to be an original MY 2012 XKR-S.

My point was that the XKR-S looks too much like a catfish. It doesn't matter if it's a real or fake XKR-S; it's still an awful design.
Have you seen or driven one in person? I have. Aesthetics are purely personal opinion. I can tell you in person. It’s a completely different beast. And driving it, it’s on another level. In my opinion, it’s the best looking x150 design Jaguar made, inside and outside.
I wouldn't mind having an /R-S, but the price point difference is ludicrous for what it is.
Stiffer springs.
Different steering.
An extra 40 HP that you can get with a file swap in SDD.
A weird looking front end and a goofy wing on the back.
Nah, I'll keep my /R. Course I do prefer the look of the 2012+ front end. Add the catfish and maybe back to evens.

I agree that there are more differences that make it more "-S", but who will really notice those on a daily basis?
And yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. IMHO, the XKR-S front end design is too busy and doesn't work with the sleek design of the rest of the car. Just my

Never driven XKRS but except of potential aerodynamics benefits of the design, mine should be better off - given more power, better/stiffer suspension and better brakes.
But answering short question from the title - you should buy it. Of course if you can (assuming an end price of north of USD 75k).
You need to drive mine

I'd pay an extra $5,000 for an -S, because that's all it's worth. Mileage doesn't affect much because age still wears stuff out. Maybe another extra $2k cuz low. That makes my MAX bid $30,000 and not one cent more. It's a car, barely more than a stock XKR, certainly not worth another FIFTY THOUSAND???? That's just crazy nutcakes.
Speedmaster,
I have had my 2010 XKR with a tad under 200,000 miles on her on the track many dozens of times. I'm by no means an aggressive track driver, I drive at what's comfortable for me. At a few months shy of 70 years of age, I don't have the reflexes nor the eyesight that I had 30 years ago, so I'm not going to do anything stupid on the track, but it allows you the opportunity to learn some of the parameters of your car and your abilities in a legal and safe manner, and typically with friends who have brought their cars. These cars are not fragile and can take it. When I first bought my car nearly ten years ago, a friend was going to the track and had just sold his Audi S5 V8 6 speed (a spectacularly good car that I drove many times on the track) I lent him my XKR for the weekend and he's a very aggressive driver, and had a ball with my car (and was shocked at how much power it had). It was so new to me, that when he called me to ask how to turn off the traction control because it was kicking in too often for his aggressive style, I couldn't tell him how. I, unfortunately guessed incorrectly and he kept turning on the adaptive cruise control which certainly didn't help him much. I would recommend everyone try a track day with a group that has teachers and beginner levels, it will be an eye opener and a lot of fun.

Went for $54k. Pretty good deal, I would say: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...omments-anchor
I prefer the coupe and with red, I could live with a black interior, but I prefer lighter ones.

A very good deal for that price.
