Default AC Issue


Afternoon everyone,

Just had this message from my mechanic, has anyone ever had this issue before?

Mate, there is a TSB for it. Its a switch on the compressor. great threads about it here and on the Ftype forum.

In the old days, ac was never needed on the coast, there was always a breeze off the ocean.

I had the above valve changed due to poor AC performance - took for ever to cool off after initial start up but once it started to cool it worked well. Valve was sticking in the bore. Once the valve was changed, the car cools off immediately. The part was around $250.00 if i remember correctly, plus 3 hours labor and gas recharge.

It would have taken more than AC to cool me down after that if it wasn't covered under warranty.

Thank you for the TSB!

Have sent this to my mechanic and he said that he'd like to check the system before replaced that part
