I had a CTEK directly attached to the battery of my 2007 XK. I've replaced that car with a 2015 XK. From what I've read, I can't directly attach a CTEK to the battery due to the BMS on the 5L cars. So, is there a permanent way to attach a CTEK to the later model XK? I'm not thrilled about using the clamps on the trunk/boot pos. and neg. posts.

Use the eyelets that came with the CTEK. Attach one to the positive post and the other to a good ground in the trunk area. Easy.
I'm pretty sure that 5.0L owners don't have to attach the positive CTEK eyelet to the positive battery terminal, and can use the CTEK Alligator clips to connect to the positive and negative remote battery terminals in the trunk (boot) like I've done.
The positive remote battery terminal is under this cover on the left side of the trunk on my convertible. Positive alligator clip wire shown under the cover.
Positive remote terminal with alligator clip attached.
Negative alligator clip attached to remote negative battery terminal in rear center of spare tire compartment.

That's what I've done on my 2014 except I used a bracket behind the panel as an earth as all earths are the same.

Stuart,
The Alligator clips are considered a 'soft' (temporary) connection whereas the Eyelets are a 'hard' (permanent) connection.
My CTEK 3 metre extension exits through the same LH vent grille as yours and is long enough to connect the the CTEK on the garage floor. The luggage compartment lid can safely be closed on the extension lead without any damage and coils up in the luggage compartment when not in use.
Basically I do the same as Graham. The only difference being I have the C-Teck mounted on my work bench. That way, if I forget, which I have done once I only ruin the cord which is easy to replace instead of running over the C-Teck.

+1
My present 'on the floor' CTEK location is only temporary and definitely NOT recommended!
We recently moved home for the first time in over forty years so a wall bracket is in a lowly position on a very long priority list.
Thanks for all of the input. One final question regarding the hookup. I'm going to attach the lead to the positive terminal on the jumper post. Since that connection is hot, can I just remove the nut and put the ring terminal on it or do I need to disconnect the battery? I don't want to do anything to damage the electronics.

I have about a 12 foot extension cable going from the battery pig tail to my battery maintainer. This cable exits the boot over the back lip so I put a duct tape “flag” on the extension cable and drape the flag over one of the back bumper obstacle sensors as the boot lid is closed. That way I get an alert on the rear obstacle screen when in reverse if the battery maintainer is still connected.
