I don't like any of those spots. Especially since it'd involve cutting body panels. Ever consider putting it inside the wheel well area?

You might want to mount it lower, in the lower valence like richzak did in post #6 in this thread:
Mounting option 1

or jagtoes mounted his behind that valence, as a waterproof socket, as can be somewhat seen in post #5 in this thread:
Option #2

The valence is a cheaper replacement than your options if you want to undo it, and the jagtoes solution doesn’t damage any body parts.

Yes that is probably a better option as you are correct about cutting body work... Resell could be an issue, the next person may find the cutting offensive.
I just wanted to be able to pull in and plug in the extension cable to the car... I find that leaving the hatch a little ajar will not drain the battery as the light in either side of the boot automatically turns off after about 20 min. If left unattended. So maybe that's a better option I can mount the NOCO port to the fall out panel covering the battery bay opposed to constantly removing that fall out panel which is a PITA... Removing the 4 plastic wing screws every time plus I have a net pocket bag for storage that is attached to those 4 screws to anchor it.
Thanks for the feedback, it's always better to get others perspective.

OK.... this is not as hard as it seems. Just run the cord out the hatch. The wire will not be damaged. Plug-in takes 3 seconds if you are slow. But the CTEK unit is particularly suited to this because of the fine wires and the waterproof plug; the CTEK unit itself remains outside the car:

The connector is discreet:

Mine hangs out the boot. I forgot to unplug it only once, no damage.
