Default Boosting antenna signal

Ever since I got my car the fm radio signal has been inadequate. I thought I could just buy a new sharkfin off ebay and plug it into a single pin plug but it has alot more wiring than I expected. Has anyone bought anything aftermarket to get a better signal? thanks

Sounds like yours may be faulty, in which maybe you can just fix it - may be as simple as a bad connector or broken wire.

I've noticed the same thing since the day I bought my 2012. My bet is the antenna in the spoiler is the problem. The range of both AM/FM seems to be limited and based on signal strength of the broadcast. My Lexus has the shark fin and I don't have a range problem with that system. I get better reception for the same stations so it's the Jag system. I bet the reception on the 2007 cars with the exterior antenna is better. I don't think there is an aftermarket fix.

My friend Ernie just bought a 2007 XK Coupe with a shark fin on hatch. We are not sure it is hooked up and & external OEM still works so ........I suggested he pull the OEM fuse and see if AM still OK.
Have not heard from him yet; but when I do I will post result............

I still believe nothing wrong with OEM antenna except having to remember to turn off radio before entering my garage....thats not too difficult even for an old fart!!!
Like putting flaps down before landing!!

Cheers, Adrian

Tell Ernie, it's the XM antenna. As for the mast antenna, remove F4 and it will stay in the down position.
