Well, not two seconds after I sent an email to Swallows, I scrolled down on their facebook page and saw this...

Will have to look into this further.

I'm patiently waiting for your conclusions. One concern is excessive wear on the Alcon rotors from the presumably harder Brembo ceramic pad compound. Another concern is sacrificing the excellent OEM brake performance (initial bite, no noise, etc.) for less visible dust. I'm interested in reducing visible brake dust, but if that comes with reduced brake performance or accelerated rotor wear, I'll just keep cleaning the wheels every few days.

I had my Wortec discs fitted all around in Dec (IIRC?) According to Wortec they were the first fitted to any XK in the world.,,on plenty of F-types though.

I didn't however upgrade the calipers (will leave that for another date) so am running the standard 2 and single pot out of the factory.

As an indicator of price front & rear inc fitting was £2.3k and I got a significant discount as used in promo pics, natch with an Alcon set up the cost may be higher.

I attended an open day at Swallows where Wortec had a stand, they had a massive set of 8 pots that were billet ali that used...wait for it..2 sets of 4 pot pads! They've just had single pads made for these and the price exc fitting is £4k! Pads are available to meet clients needs.

I stuck to ebc reds as don't track and initial bit is a little worse than stock, however high speed braking (70mph+) seems a lot more immediate, unsprung weight saving 45 all around, which does make a difference to turn in and speed bumps They advised that the discs should last 4-5 times longer than stock ans they darned well better based on the price!!

Interesting find here but to over priced for us cruising types. I like the drilled and slot look but don't like the scalloped edges. Hopefully I'll not have to shop for rotors and pads for a while as I only have 24K on my OEM set up. On my last annual check up pad thickness was at about 60% remaining and the dealer said they usually see around 60K miles for replacement on cars used for casual driving. I usually get 50K on my other vehicles so we'll see what happens.

I found a complete set of Alcon brakes and pads for my 2008 xkr Portfolio at Rock Auto. www.rockauto.com they fit perfectly. These are from the Manufacturer Centric brakes. $650 USD total for front and rear discs and pads.
