I went to a dealer the other day and saw an XKR 175 75th edition. All the markings on the interior and exterior looked fine, except the color was silver. Are there silver 175 edition?
Also, is the 2011 75th edition supposed to have a backup camera? This one had the backup assistance, but definitely no camera.
There is nothing special about the 175 XKR. I owned one, sold it with only 5,000 miles, and bought a new 2013 XKR with dynamic pack and performance exhaust. The 175 is a black base XKR with the speed pack body kit and that's it. It doesn't even have the performance exhaust. I sold the the 2013 XKR, November 2015, because I had too many cars and wanted a convertible XKR. I waited until last year to get a convertible 2014 XKR dynamic R with all the options, color, wheels, condition, and low mileage I wanted.
If so, the listed VIN is incomplete and therefore impossible to check.
That is not a 175, not that a 175 is special. The 175 was only in black on black in a coupe. It only came with the speed pack body kit and had piano black interior trim.

The silver one in the ad is the same one I ran through the VIN, and it is indeed a 175.

It doesn't have the speed pack and has wood trim. Either it's the wrong VIN or someone really messed with the car. I ran it through TOPix. The VIN is from a 175, but the car looks nothing like the specs. The TOPix reads cranberry stitching, this car has white. So many different specs. Something is seriously screwed up. Maybe it was salvaged and repaired from the parts of another XK. The 175 only comes in one flavor. Black on black coupe, cranberry stitching, red calipers, speed pack styling kit(larger spoiler, side sills, front splitter and 174 speed limit), and piano black trim. This car has wood trim, no speed pack, and has white stitching on seats and dash. Who would change all of this and for what reason? Either the VIN is wrong or the car has been seriously messed with.
But it does ‘show’ nicely and I have no reason to think that this is not a reputable dealership.
And look at all the customizations that have been done amongst us.
Too bad we don’t have a history. ... But it does show nicely...
Perhaps an inspection by a jag dealer is in order. I’ve done that with every used car I bought. And what was worthwhile was after running the VIN I got the service history.
I got the carfax from the dealrship. The dealer said a guy traded it in for Nissan GTR and brought the original tires as well as maintenance logs. It is the one above, the 40511. I'd have to actually go back and take a picture of the VIN to confirm exact same.
I have this figured out, I think. If you go to the dealers website the car is listed with exterior color, ultimate black--as it should be if it is a 175. https://www.auditysonscorner.com/use...a34bfe93ff.htm The pictures are not of the actual car, but an example of what a Jaguar 2011 XKR looks like. All of the pictures show a white background and of an XKR in 2 different shades of silver. If you contact the dealer they should confirm the color is black, has red contrast stitching, piano black trim and body styling kit.
Car Gurus does not allow Stock Photos, unless each is marked as such. I have no doubt they have a 175, but picturing a totally different vehicle is shady.
The car is not black, it is silver, has red calipers and the person that traded in the car put on custom tires but also brought the "original" tires as well for whoever purchases the car. I was not allowed to see them. I test drove it. It looks in great condition and sounded great, though the mechanics are looking to do maintenance as they got it in the day before I came. It had not been fully cleaned, they were going to check the water pump, clean it, and mentioned other mechanical issues they felt may need to be fixed later.
Interior is black leather (can't remember stitching color), has the 175 markings when you open the door. I could go back and ask to take photos of it and get it checked out by the jag dealer across the street. I forgot to snap a pic of the VIN to ensure a match.
Where I had my doubts about it after driving the car, was I have seen only 1 175/75th edition before and driven another 2013 black/black xkr. I could not remember if the other 175/75th I drove had a backup camera, as it was in 2012-2013 time frame. The 2013 I drove last year did. This one did not. The other factor is they gave me the carfax and it was noted as the color being black. Why it would be repainted surprised me, the car was traded in for a Nissan GTR.

The backup camera was only available in 2012 and on. The 175 never had a backup camera. This is a messed up car or Shady salesmanship.
