This is a common problem unfortunately, and there are many threads on it. There is a thread about ten below your thread. Search function is your friend!

Here is the most recent thread that I have seen, but there are others.

Ed,

It's an easy DIY repair. Open the above link and follow the instructions in my post #105, but use Rhino Glue (my post #121) instead of the 3M adhesive.

Hi Stuart. Many thanks for the step by step. i just spent a couple of hours doing prep, taping, etc. I clamped down the sides that had come loose, but when I went to glue and clamp down the bottom, there was NO OVERLAP from the top to glue to the bottom of the glass. They barely touched, and applying any pressure just pushed the top off the bottom of the glass. I'm no bodybuilder, but I tried mightily to push the bottom of the cloth top up over the edge of the glass --- figured if I could do that then maybe I could rig something to consistently apply that pressure while glue was clamped and setting. I couldn't budge it (and still can't figure out how to rig something that might).

Was so hopeful this would work. I'm not in a position to pay for a new top right now. Guess it stays in the garage unless the sun is shining ... but I don't have a backup car for inclement weather. Thanks for your detailed notes, I just hadn't figures the top had stretched enough that there wouldn't be anything to glue to.
Brian

Did you try opening the top a bit to give some slack in the canvass?
