There are at least a couple threads on doing this, and it only requires putting the housings in a low-temperature oven for a little while. Some have done this to repair the units, others to paint or otherwise change the colors of the interior sections.
The butyl sealant gets gooey and the clear plastic lens can be removed from the rest of the housing fairly easily. Most times a bit of fresh butyl sealant is added to ensure a good seal upon reassembly.
I've not done this myself with my XKR headlights, but have done similar items such as toys and outdoor equipment.
