My wife uses them daily in the XK. Her Contigo spill proof (but not drip proof!!!) coffee container fits perfectly.

Here is a great article on cup holders are an American thing.
How U.S. car design came to include cup holders.
Perhaps the novelty of inadequate cup holders in European cars can be used to an advantage of pointing to passengers that there is no place for their drinks.
The day that jaguar has good cup holders it wont be worth owing. Because if they capitulate to designing for their largest market the USA, they will be homogeneous with the rest, I think its getting there now.

Can we discuss this.
In our now vintage throwback Jaguars with fine burls- those things are as wrong as an uncut Rabbi from Saudi Arabia.
It looks like a cocktail lounge in there.
But I hear you. You can make that yourself with the following inserts and some led lighting.
Just cut the bottom if you want the light.

BTW the Ftype which is 3 generations newer also has those inserts in the cup holder. So Jaguar has evolved and we should take it upon ourselves to do so if we are going to hold on to something from its distant memory- a time when folks bought cars for reasons other than cup holders.
