Decent obd2 scanner recommendation
The days of my repairing cars is far behind me. I have a great reliable Indy as well as a few dealerships I can depend upon. However with my 2010 Jag XK as well as my trusty 2001 Lexus LS430 I find a need for a OBD2 scanner. My lexus is regularly throwing codes for the evaporative system triggering the CEL and I wouldn't mind keeping any eye on the coolant temperature of my Jag. I'd rather reset my CEL on my Lexus myself than go over to my Indy. I see prices for the scanners starting around $15 and going over hundreds of dollars and then some. I'm not looking for the best one out there. Can anyone give me a suggestion of a scanner that is decent enough to do what I'm looking for and continue to function for a couple of years? How much should I be looking to spend for anything halfway decent? As mentioned, if possible I would like to check coolant temp on Jag as well as reset the CEL. I see alot of scanners on line and you tube. . Thanks all.

I bought one of these several years ago and it still works perfectly:
OBD2 Bluetooth Adapters
The one I bought still works flawlessly and came with full versions of both Torque and Dash Command apps. There is a LOT of information in there. I paid like six bucks.

I went with a middle of the road unit which cost about $70. The feature I looked for was the ability to erase codes. Works for all of the cars with OBDII. It's brand name was Actron. I also had the ELM BT unit and had downloaded the Torque app. but do not use it anymore. For the Jag I wanted to be able to read WT and Volts on a full time bases so I use a mini Scan Gauge unit stuck on my steering column. This unit turns on with ignition and off when the car is shut down. It meets my need which is all that counts.
