Smile Decoding the VIN #

I have a 2012 XKR-S Coupe. End of the VIN number is 000 and would like to know is this car is possibly the FIRST ONE. Also would like to know the correct number of this model produced/imported to U.S.A. (since different sources and reviews seem to have different numbers). Will appreciate any info. Thanks, Geo

That's the kind of questions Jaguar North America's Customer Relationship Center should be able to answer.

Contact details:
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC
Customer Relationship Center
555 MacArthur Blvd.
Mahwah, NJ 07430-2326

Alternatively, any Jaguar Dealer will be able to look up the VIN range for your model which will easily confirm if you have the first.

I'm thinking that the #1 car of any given series would have a vin ending with "001" .

<shrug>

I dunno.

Syd:

Does your decoder cover all 17 letters and numbers that are in a VIN?

Sorry Geo, but the VIN's don't work that way.

The first X150 XK that was available to the public had VIN ending in B00379, and that was in 2006. The VIN's of all the X150 variants have been going up from there. The first of each model year does not start on a round number either (see below).

And the last six digits have nothing to do with the spec of the car, it's just counting up consecutively. The model years start at those listed VIN's, but to be specific like "how many XKR-S Coupés" then only Jaguar can tell you that.

If yours is something like B45000 or B46000 then yeah it's kind of special, but not in the way you're thinking.

Probably correct....as I have a 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Edition convertible and only 200 convertibles and 180 coupes were produced to be imported into the USA. My VIN ends in B29402 so none of these numbers would match the production number of my car.

I did however send an email to Jaguar USA asking if they could provide more info on my entire 17 diget VIN Number. I will have to wait a week or so to get a response.
