Default Disabling Seat belt chime in XKR

Is there any way (short of wearing your seatbelt) to disable the seat belt chime on an 07 XKR? Thanks

Hey guys, there are ways to disable it, but the technicians who frequent these boards don't like to reveal that information because they are good guys, have high moral standards (at least in this case ) and it is a pseudo-safety-related issue; they feel responsible to keep you guys alive (well at least not help you from ignoring your belts) so that you can come back in 4 years and buy another jag. It is by no means a disrespectful gesture on their part, but a respect for you. This topic has been discussed in the recent past, with the same outcome I'm afraid.

LOL. I was just kidding FJT. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Florida Phil: I know what you mean. Inevitable Swirls marks will appear soon on black even with the best microfiber towels. The dealer's prep did a terrible job and I had to stop them as they were using these nasty cotton towels to prep my car. Created swirl marks already with them. I just wish Jag had something similar to MB's Nanopaint which helps prevent scratches and swirlmarks.

They are all useless at prepping and cleaning cars....when I had my Chrome SENTAwheels fitted at Collier in Orlando I just caught them as they were about to let some young kid wash my car. Now if it needs to go in for anything. I tape a big sign to the steering wheel.

DO NOT WASH/CLEAN THIS CAR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

Thanks for all the replies, I typically wear my belt when I drive any distances, but my commute to and from my office is about 3 minutes long through a residential area where I never exceed 25 mph and it's a pain listening to that chime for those few minutes. If anyone has any ideas on where I could find the info to disable it I would appreciate a PM. Having this done will just make me enjoy the car more, not being able to get it done may keep me from buying another one - it's that annoying to me - Thanks

I can't get out of my subdivision without my girlfriend making me put mine on. Something about 'what am I supposed to tell your mom when we can't have an open casket?" is mentioned frequently. You think the chime is annoying...

No offense, but it's real easy to turn the seatbelt chime off. You grab the male portion of the seatbelt and insert it in the female portion of the buckle. It's really not too difficult. Something this easy will keep you from buying another car from the same maker???? Wow, that's classic! How many times have you been married???? I'd love to hear how you solved those little issues! HaHaHa

I just insert the male end of the rear "seat" into the female of the front. Presto!

Do you have to change your shorts after standing on the "go" peddle for 15 seconds? Nice looking MB!

Default Seat belt chime

I made a template of the male connector on my seatbelt and took it to the local auto salvage. They matched it and and sold me 2 connectors for $30 which I insert when I don't want to wear seatbelt.
