Default Door Panel Compatibility

Hello all.

I am new to the forums. Glad to be here.

Just picked up a low mile 2007 XKR (22,304 Miles)

Car was garage parked for 6 years after the owner passed. However the family did have it serviced and driven once a month. Oil changes and etc etc.

Just got it back from the shop. All new fluids, spark plugs, filters and gone through. Got a clean bill of health for now.

The interior is my worry. The left door panel is completely wiped out. Literately falling apart to the touch. I am able to get a set of perfect door panels from a 2011.

Are they compatible or am I in trouble already?

Thank you

Will

I forgot to mention. I believe the dashboard is the same all the way from 07-15,
The local dealer told me and I found someone on a youtube video who put in a new dash from a wrecked 2014 in his 2008.
So I would assume the door panels would be the same.

Thanks
Will

Looks like they are the same according to "what's this fit" here for the left side door

This product fits 52 vehicle variants.
Jaguar: 3 models, 52 variants between 2007 and 2015.

The panels WILL fit, but will they MATCH? What parts are included? The seat switches on the newer cars are a lot fancier than the old ones, and the trims and tweeter may be out of sync with your current configuration. Of course, if your old trim pieces are okay, those will swap out easy.
I suggest also that you get all new pop fasteners so you don't get them broken while installing.

Not just the pop fasteners as @Cee Jay suggests. Make sure the entire plastic mounts on the door card. I once saw one on eBay and half the mounts were broken and gone. No place to attach the fasteners. I wrote the seller to confirm and he did, then offered me a discount. I passed as there's no way to replace them.

That looked a frightening price.

I knew parts were loaded in USA and Canada against the equivalent in the UK but this makes a interesting comparison.

The 1722 UKP cost (which includes taxes) converts to 2117 USD or 379 USD less.

Then there's the NOT AVAILABLE ONLINE caveat.

The increasing problem with Jaguar parts is NOT AVAILABLE, online or otherwise. I'm still waiting for an F-Pace RH front door after five weeks and that's for a current model.

It would be helpful to understand what exactly you mean by “literally falling apart to the touch”. Maybe post a picture or three?

See this thread where I took apart my driver door panel to fix a rattle and in the process it broke apart in several pieces. I was able to rebuild it and it looks fine now.
