Default Finally finished my XKR is now a 2 seater with lugage space

As some of you may remember I started this project some time ago. but other things came up, and it was put on the back burner.

Since my last post ( my XKR is now a two seater ) I have altered the Toneau cover shape to flow with the lines of the car and overcome the problems of the top clearing freely, and had it covered in black leather, and finished the interior the same as the trunk ,I now have lots of trunk space for whatever, shopping, dog ,etc,

I even have space under the floor of my new trunk ( it lifts up ) for tools or ???.

The way the the toneau works is there is a lip around the rear that fits under the back convertible top cover, to open it just open the convertible top a couple of inches and the top swings up so you can load a large suit case etc.you can also have access by leaning the seat backs forward for smaller things without opening the toneau cover.

The tempered glass rear wind screen works well and stops the buffeting.

It is even better when the side windows are up and will be better still when the rear side windows can be kept up (hint) lol.

I would like to point out I have not compromized the car in any way and can be put back to original in approx 1 hr, The only thing I wish ,I would like to see it in C/Fiber but that is beyond my capabalities.

Photos show 2 different rear wings. I think the original looks the best.

Do you exchange rear wings back and forth?

Otherwise looks good, and very good that the car can be returned to original status.

You're little buddy must be happier than sitting in that back seat.

Nice job and I especially like the way you removed the rear seats and finished with a carpeted luggage area. Great way to expand capability for extras without limiting the cars capability.

Simply awesome job....outstanding and yes it does look like OE

Looks almost the way perhaps it should have looked from the factory.

I bet you there'd be more than a few owners who might like to try this, if a kit were available!

Thanks for sharing..

Default Selling as a kit

Unfortuatly im not im not interested in producing it my self ,but if someone wants to take it on I might be willing to work something out, as I remarked I would like to see it built in C/FIBER I think the rear convertible top cover would have to be C/F also to look right.
It would be easy to make now as I have the finished mould and the brackets all worked out .It was a lot of work to build keep changing the plug etc untill it was a satisfactry fit and design and did not interfere with the top going up and down,Lots of hrs and expence, but I get a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction from it as I do building custom cars.Take a look at my 40 Cadillac coup in my Garage .THANKS for your interest and remarks.BL

You would not need the Toneau cover being a coup I sujest you go to a upholstery shop if you dont do that kind of work yourself and show them the photos, this was the easy part of the project ,and thanks for your remarks and interest ,BL
