I went the screw route on this thinking it would be stronger. I used 4 flathead #5 screws. Overall length .700" I drilled a .122" diameter clearance hole and a small .060" hole in the mating side for the screw to tap into. This is a satisfying fix and cost the price of some flathead screws. Countersinking the very top of the plastic will help the screw fit flush. Also, when you drill through the plastic don't apply much pressure. Let the drill do the work and drill slowly-you don't want to drill thru the leather (or suede) on the other side. Set the drill on the slowest setting possible. The overall length of the screw you use is critical. Too short and it wont have enough plastic to thread into. Too long and you could feel the end of the screw behind the material when your finished.

Modified Truss Head screws may have been a better choice as they don't protrude up or down, but pretty much totally flat. The flat underside would transfer less lateral forces to the plastic also, by not forcing a cone into the hole.
This repair is now 4 years old. With recent conversation on droopy visors, I thought an update on current status might help. So I can continue to recommend the Loctite Plastic repair. A repair that is invisible.
Thanks for the update. I have looked at what I think is every post on the XK/XJ floppy-visor issue. Both my '07 XK convertible and '11 XJ have this problem. I replaced the visors in the XJ several years ago with used visors from an XJ with 19 K miles, but the issue has returned in the driver's visor. Only my '13 XK coupe with 40k miles doesn't have the issue - yet.
I am going to go with your method based on your experience. At worst, I would have to go the screw route at some point in the future if the fix doesn't hold.
I've had my XKR 2007 for about a week and am despairing with every problem that I find. Floppy visors, trunk button pushed in, driver's door panel loose and cracked by the knee, dash end cap loose, cigarette lighter door cover stuck, Bluetooth phone module inop, and the screen was malfunctioning the other day showing Jaguar, blank, Jaguar, blank the entire drive.
I'm beginning to think that I've taken on a full time job fixing things that I've never seen go wrong on a seventeen year old vehicle with just 107000 miles.

Sounds like a weekend of small fixes + a new battery.
enjoy!
