Default Important information from ctek

My previous advice regarding AGM batteries and to always use the Cold Weather Program (Snowflake Icon) is not necessarily correct. See this update:

Interesting. Anyone know the charging requirements for the battery in an MY18 F-Type V8 AWD?

The car is irrelevant, what brand and type of battery do you have?

The get the definitive answer to your question, you have to ask the battery manufacturer. The answer you get from your Jaguar dealer or battery retailer might differ. Have you read your Owner's Handbook? It may have the answer. Is your battery AGM?

Your battery should have a label that includes the brand and model number. If it does not identify the manufacturer, try a Google search.

If you're using a CTEK battery maintainer, I think you're pretty safe to use the normal program (car logo) unless the temperature drops below 40°F, in which case the Cold Weather program would be better .

Sounds like the car icon will always be safe?

The only caution Jaguars service manuals states on AGM is not let charging voltage exceed 14.8vdc. CTEK should be fine in both modes.

Just drive your car. It was created to be used not shoved in a garage. Throw the charger away and make your life simple without worrying about batteries and chargers. Drive it !

I agree. Just park it if it snows. My '09 XK starts up with out a problem even in single digit temperatures. It is my daily driver, except when the weather is dirty, I have a beater for that.
