Inconsiderate me.

Inconsiderate me.
Since I'm in a different forum than the X100 that I also habitate, I thought I might introduce myself a bit. Having had a '99 XK8 and still having a 2004 XKR Portfolio, my other half opined a newer model might be nice. I took that as a tacit directive and started exploring. I quickly determined 510hp was a basic requirement. I found a 2011 Salsa Red XKR ragtop in NJ about 400 miles away with only 17,700 miles on it at a Lexus dealer. They wouldn't budge from their $39,995 price but I figured that wasn't bad. I drove to see it and it looked new with a few add-ons like the film coating on the front and back and a Mina muffler and grill. I had it shipped to me and have been acclimating myself to it.
Thanks to the folks here, I determined the dung beetle on the A pillar was actually a bluetooth mike and the console armrest slides to cover the cupholders for some reason. Right now I'm wondering why the front calipers are silver and the rears are orange?

Welcome Don-T. I've got one foot in both forums also, with a '97 vert and a 2011 XKR coupe. The price you paid was fair. Four months ago, I paid $38,500 for the same year XKR, but w/ 5000 more miles. And verts are like $7k more when new. And yes, 510 HP is the new norm. How did we ever live without it.

Welcome from an X100 and X150 owner as well. I love both cars for entirely different reasons. The X100 is simply beautiful, sensual and the real successor to the XKE, just look at it. And I always feel special driving it with acres of walnut burl surrounding me. BUT!!! driving the X150 XKR is a revelation in comparison. No more jello jiggling going over humps, bumps, dips, and acceleration, handling, and ride that the X100 could only dream about. Your wife knows what she wanted.
