Ditto, relatively simple job. Three bolts (top inside, top back and in the inner fender), one washer hose quick connect, one electrical connection. Line the opening with some painters tape and wiggle the housing out (worst part).
The X150 service manual has some decent instructions with pictographs showing where the bolt are.

Not really. The housing indexes on the outside by the bolt with the spear and hole arrangement. The inside and top index themselves. It's also pretty easy to adjust the headlamp bulb position on these (think it was a 6mm Allen) through the white button holes on the top back of the housing. There's a plastic tab that sits in the hole to 'blind' them that pops out easily.

Some of the schematic diagrams from GGG's post on this thread might help: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...08-xkr-106501/

I watched my mechanic change one of the other bulbs last year and he had to loosen the bumper slightly to get one of the headlamps back in. I have removed them both previously but it does seem very fiddly and you run the risk of scratching the bumper or dropping the whole unit when it suddenly comes loose!

I always thought having to remove headlamp (and rear lamp) units to change a bulb was ridiculous but at least it's an improvment on the design of the earlier XK8/XKR headlamps which have a serious condensation issue that was never completely resolved by Jaguar.
There's a useful headlamp function for those of us with RHD vehicles going to LHD countries - a lever inside the unit to switch the low beam direction. The headlamp has to be removed and I usually do this in Eurotunnel car park before the Channel crossing. Only takes about five minutes each side but does attract some odd looks from other passengers!
