Default Injectors access on a 2007 XKR!

My kid's new to him 2007 XKR has a cyl 3 injector circuit code. He doesn't live anywhere near me so's I can't help him out. Also I don't know crap about the 4.2 so video chats don't help much cuz I'm stupid on these.
He's a bit new to working on these things, so he doesn't know how to get to the top of the injectors to see if he has a broken wire or something simple like that. The supercharger and intercooler sort of intimidate him.
Any help out there for him to get to it easy???
Thanks, people.

Unless it’s at the front of the engine basically cylinders 1 and 2, you can’t really get to a lot with the intercoolers on. You need to pull the supercharger to pull the intercoolers. At least from my X100 and X308 experiences. Maybe others can chime in and hopefully prove me wrong since it’s better if I am wrong. I’m betting SC r&r is a grand or more if you pay a shop.

I was lucky on my 2000 X100 when this happened it was the front most injector on the LH side aka Bank 2 Cylinder 1 aka Code Cylinder Number 5. After testing the wiring, it was good, and the injector itself was bad per resistance, $40 and I was back trucking.

That would really suck. Can't even see the injector wiring? He's really hoping either the connector came loose or crumbled from heat/age.
He stretched to afford his car, doesn't have a garage, and I'm a thousand miles away.
Anyone else with more in-depth enlightenment?

You can do what retired USAF Dads do:
1. Visit your son and bring your tools, or
2. Tell him you'll pay the bill to get it fixed, and work out an easy repayment plan.

You can afford to forgive all of that debt, but you want him to know that there's no free lunch. He probably already knows that.

+1 on recommendations by Stuart S.

Here is a link to a folder with the X150 Workshop Manual for vehicles fitted with the 4.2 litre unit:

These PDFs explain each system.

Yeah, I already sent him the workshop manual. He's looked at it, but is confused by a lot of stuff. I WILL state that his mother raised him with a shitball step-dad, I only had him and his brothers two weeks per year, no weekends because the distance was too much. She moved out of state before Utah could stop her as moving children out of state was forbidden in the divorce. She did it anyway and Utah said "too late now".
Anyway, yeah, he's like 32 and has said for years he'd rather have been with me instead. Nothing to do about that now though. Actually, all three have stated the exact same thing.
Anyway, I was just hoping for a quick "Yeah, take off the intake tube and grab underneath, the connectors are right there handy".
Guess not.
Shitballs.
And yes, I helped him afford a 2007.

At some point, sooner rather than later, the supercharger must come off to replace the coolant hoses to the EGR. This would be an excellent time to get that taken care of as well.

All the lines were replaced about a year ago, the supercharger was serviced, the plugs changed and all the fluids replaced including the transmission. That's one reason he bought this specific car.
That's also a reason he/I expect just a loose or damaged connector on the injector.

Yes he is. He is a part-time Blackjack dealer in a Native casino, and otherwise works the valet. He's very broke because housing is astronomical there. I've tried to get him to move somewhere else, but he's really happy there, except for the money part. Dang kids nowadays.

That'd be really cool, I shall ask him if he's up to 'stranger danger'.
Let me know about your next trip. It's his only car and he works 40 miles from work, but only 3 miles from a park-n-ride.
