Default Instructions for removing door panels

Going to remove the door panels to upgrade the seat switch packs tomorrow. Anyone have a copy of the section from the shop manual handy? Thank you very much!

The 07-09 US was dull. Jag updated them in 2010-2011. Here is a before and after! Especially now that I have replaced the interior wood with piano black.

Did they end up being a straight swap?

They did indeed, about 15 minutes apiece. Very pleased with the results for little $$$. I had considered the current 2012-2014 version which is all piano black but decided this version has the best contrast & class, flowing nicely with the other chrome, champagne & piano finishes in my car.

I might also do this (been on my mind for a while) - any tricks or danger points? Do you have to disconnect the door handle cables to do this?

It is easy and straight forward. No surprises, although I have taken Jaguar interiors apart before. I highly recommend you use nylon non marring trim removal tools to assist.

Unless you have an extra set of hands to help you hold the panel while you swap the switchpack, you will need to disconnect the door release cable and door wire harness, both very easy to do. Like any job the right tools and proper prep will make your work easier.

If you need help let me know.

Thanks for this clarification. I have restored many Jaguars so I don't anticipate a problem - just preferring not to encounter any surprises!
My 07 XK ("luxury") interior has been upgraded at this point to equal that of the 2008 model (window switch pack and walnut inserts, steering column switches with chrome rings, chrome radio knob); the finishing touches (bringing it to 2009) would be the seat switch pack and perhaps the tweeter chrome rings, but I am not sure about the latter - a bit visually distracting, I think. We'll see. It used to be that owning a Jaguar meant spending all sorts of money on maintenance. Now that they are, in that respect alone, boring to own - because nothing seems to go wrong (and I have owned many of them, so this comment is not based on a single example) - funds and time are freed for entirely unnecessary cosmetic upgrades (authentic Jaguar XK options, not aftermarket) - like the anodysed stainless trim piece for the luggage compartment, and that lovely, heavy overlay carpet for the luggage area. Fun! These cars are jewels. Yesterday I saw a white Aston Martin DB9 and as it passed by it occurred to me that the XK is more beautiful, and more "out together" in detail and outline; I much prefer the interior of the XK over the DB9 as well.

With regard to the XK vs the Aston, I meant "put together". "Out together" sounds like fun, but it isn't what I intended to say!

His instructions regarding the seat switch pack relate to his XK - see the photos. Or does your question relate to something else entirely?

Looks great. How much were the switch packs and where did you get them? I've been thinking about doing the same thing but have never gotten around to it

The part numbers are C2P17343 & C2P17341, I bought them at a Jag dealer. You can do the same or buy them online. If you do a google search, several sites will come up.

Welcome to the forums Geir,

As you have posted directly in the Model forum without first posting an Intro, please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.
