Default Jaguar X150 AFS / LIGHT Malfunction

Hello,

i own a 2007 Jaguar X150 XKR Conv.

Since a couple of days, the AFS warning light is flashing and the right main beam, the front + side flasing light is out of service.

I read out via OBD (not with SDD) and it told me that the actuator for the lights left and right are out of service + power module right is faulty.

Does anyone had any similiar problem with the X150? i figured out that there are AFS POWER MODULES left and right mounted on the headlights - does a change solve the problem or is there something else i should take into account?

Thank you very much for your help and best regards

I had a problem with the one head light throwing AFS warning - turned out to be a corroded ground lug on the right side chassis behind the wheel.

corroded ground posts are not uncommon. Also, not sure if it's possible as my car is stored for the winter, but can you swap the modules from right to left and if you can, does the error follow?

Do remember also that the wiring used inside the headlight assemblies are abysmal and the insulation cracks off very often. There are posts already dealing with this scenario. Hopefully another quicker resolution is possible.

Could you tell me how you fixed the problem or do you have some "how to" to get the work done?

Thank you very much

Problem solved.

The whole bolt was ripped of the chassis.

Thanks for your help!

But, how did you repair it?

Default Earth lug repair

It happened to me.
The first symptom was the active headlight fault warning, then headlights completely failed about 1/2 mile from home.
I found that the earth lug had completely sheared off (see below)
Fortunately there is a convenient hole in the bracket holding the brake pipe. I extended the earth wires and bolted them to the bracket.
That was a year ago, no further problems since 👍

Earth lug in R/H front wheel arch completely sheared off

Used a short piece of aluminium bar to extend the cable and bolted it to the brake pipe bracket - there is a very convenient spare hole.

use another bolt close to the broken one - there are some which can be used

no hole drilling necessary
