I have not had a problem yet, but if I ever had to jump start my car, what is the procedure?
As I look in the trunk, I do see one terminal on the drivers side of the car, but appears to be a negative pole as
it is black. Where is the positive pole or is that it?

 

Actually that is the positive +, you can use one of the threaded post down in the spare tire storage for a negative -

 

The positive terminal is the one with the black rubber boot over it......you can see it is insulated from the body. If I'm not mistaken the negative terminal in the spare tire well. It is advisable to not have the donor vehicle running so you are just using its battery for the jump. Once your XK is started disconnect the jumpers right away (neg first).
